The Independence, or Aseity, of God. This means that God is complete in Himself,
has life in Himself, and has no support group or supporting environment,
physically, emotionally, spiritually, or of any other sort. He is completely content with who He is, and
His happiness and joy is perfect and complete always.
Acts 17:23-25
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I
found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye
ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is
Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither
is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth
to all life, and breath, and all things;
Psalm 90:1-4
1 Lord, thou
hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst
formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. 3 Thou turnest man to destruction;
and sayest, Return, ye children of men. 4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night.
Psalm 102:25-27
25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the
earth: and the heavens are the work
of thy hands. 26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them
shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they
shall be changed: 27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have
no end.
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his
understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths
shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they
that wait upon the LORD shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint.
John 5:26
26 For as the Father hath life in
himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Revelation 4:10, 11
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him
that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast
their crowns before the throne, saying,
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou
hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Psalm 50:1-23
1 The mighty
God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and
called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God
hath shined. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall
devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall
call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by
sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and
I will testify against thee: I am
God, even thy God. 8 I will not
reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. 9 I will take no bullock out of
thy house, nor he goats out of thy
folds. 10 For every beast of the forest is
mine, and the cattle upon a thousand
hills. 11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the
field are mine. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee:
for the world is mine, and the
fulness thereof. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15 And
call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify
me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to
do to declare my statutes, or that
thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? 17 Seeing thou hatest
instruction, and castest my words behind thee. 18 When thou sawest a thief,
then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. 19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy
tongue frameth deceit. 20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou
slanderest thine own mother’s son. 21 These things
hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. 22 Now
consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be
none to deliver. 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that
ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of
God.
Psalm 94:8-11
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? 9 He
that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not
see? 10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth
man knowledge, shall not he know? 11
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Romans 11:33,34
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and
knowledge of God! how unsearchable are
his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of
the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Daniel 4:35
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth
according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or
say unto him, What doest thou?
Romans 9:19
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find
fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Ephesians 1:5
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of
children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his
will,
Psalm 115:1-18
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name
give glory, for thy mercy, and for
thy truth’s sake. 2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? 3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done
whatsoever he hath pleased. 4 Their idols are
silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. 5 They have mouths, but they speak
not: eyes have they, but they see not: 6 They have ears, but they hear not:
noses have they, but they smell not: 7 They have hands, but they handle not:
feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. 8
They that make them are like unto them; so
is every one that trusteth in them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. 10 O
house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is
their help and their shield. 11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. 12 The
LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will
bless them that fear the LORD, both
small and great. 14 The LORD shall
increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven,
even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he
given to the children of men. 17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that
go down into silence. 18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and
for evermore. Praise the LORD.
Psalm 33:11-22
11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the
thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose
God is the LORD; and the people whom he
hath chosen for his own inheritance. 13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he
beholdeth all the sons of men. 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh
upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he
considereth all their works. 16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an
host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither
shall he deliver any by his great
strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is
upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 19 To deliver their
soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waiteth for the
LORD: he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy
name. 22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
